Lope de Vega's Peribáñez is a gripping drama that explores love, lust, justice and honour.

This Spanish Golden Age play tells the story of a young peasant couple, Peribanez and Casilda, whose idyllic rural life is shattered when a powerful nobleman becomes obsessed with Casilda's beauty. This tragi-comedy captures the tensions between the nobility and peasantry, and the chaos it brings to a community.
