Other Experience
Matteo Scaburri is an English/Italian designer based primarily in rural West Dorset. He did his undergraduate degree in Film Practice at the University of the Arts London, where he initially worked as a scriptwriter and sound designer before specialising in production and costume design. Alongside designing for films that have premiered at festivals, Matteo ran Morocco Bound, an independent bookshop and poetry night in London.
After leaving university he went on to assist set designer Rufus Martin on a Sky History Channel programme, and two operas, Madame Butterfly and Under The Greenwood Tree for the Dorset Opera Festival. As well as assisting roles he continues to develop his own work and recently designed the sets for a dystopian, fashion photo series called Mosquito. Matteo’s designs are firmly rooted in the fundamental principles of artistry and storytelling.
