Other Experience

Kate, a director and theatremaker, believes storytelling is at the heart of who we are. She is inspired by theatre as collaborative craft to celebrate community, deepen belonging, and rediscover place. Kate seeks to create intimate spaces for the collective’s shared experience of the vivid, transformative, and profound; a poetic realm for the quiet reckoning of who we are and who we could be.

With an eye towards sustainability and community-based practices, Kate founded Threadbare Theatre Workshop in 2014. As Threadbare’s Artistic Director, she has adapted, directed, and devised original, site-responsive plays and reimaginings of the classics in New York City and rural places across Maine. She holds a BFA in Theatre/Acting from Rutgers where she spent her most formative year at Shakespeare’s Globe in London. Kate is the recipient of a 2022 Princess Grace Award. She is both an Irish and American citizen.
