Two Theatre Technician Vacancies at The Lir Academy

One role will support the technical department of lighting, sound and AV and the other role will support the scenic art and set construction departments. Both roles will also support events and facilities Construction Department Main duties and responsibilities include • Supervising and supporting construction and scenic students in the various roles • Engage with the upkeep and maintenance of the departments and the associated equipment and workshops. • Work on Lir productions as the need arises • Deliver related training support to other students of The Lir Academy • Based on successful candidates individual strengths there will be opportunities to work within other technical departments Further information here Technical Department Main duties and responsibilities include • Supervising and supporting technical students in the various technical roles both with the Heads of Department and individually • Engage with the upkeep and maintenance of the technical department and the associated technical equipment including all sound & visual equipment. • Work on The Lir Academy productions as the need arises • Deliver related training support to other students of The Lir Academy • Based on successful candidates individual strengths there will be opportunities to work within other technical departments Further information here Both roles will also • Be available to work on external events taking place at The Lir • Work with the Facilities Manager and administration staff to ensure the Academy’s training spaces are well managed and maintained • Ensure that The Lir is a safe working environment and that The Lir health & safety policies are followed Other duties as required by the Director of Technical Training Application details: Interested candidates should submit a letter of application and a full CV to anne.fitzpatrick@thelir.ie Deadline:Monday September 4th 2017 @ 5pm These positions are available from September - August.
