Lir Graduates included in "50 People To Watch in 2020" as compiled by The Irish Times
Earlier this month The Irish Times named the "hottest talent" set to make waves in many areas including film and TV and we're delighted that four out of the 50 people to watch are Lir Graduates!!
Eanna Hardwicke, Bachelor in Acting, 2018
Eanna has a significant supporting role in the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney's Normal People. Last year he made his big screen debut at the Cannes Film Festival with the film Vivarium, starring Jesse Eisenberg. You'll be able to see him on stage at Scene and Heard festival in the show Hooked.
Venetia Bowe, Bachelor in Acting, 2017
Since graduating from The Lir Academy, Venetia has made her mark by featuring in central theatre productions like Asking for It and Rough Magic Theatre's Much Ado About Nothing. She also started her own production company, Chaos Factory with Fionnuala Gygax, Rachel Bergin and Lir Graduate Danielle Galligan. She has an upcoming lead role in the TV series Cold Courage.
Paul Mescal, Bachelor in Acting, 2017
After making his debut as Jay Gatsby in highly successful The Great Gatsby at The Gate Theatre in 2017, Paul worked with Rough Magic Theatre on A Midsummer Night's Dream (2018). He will star in the leading role of Connell in the adaptation of Sally Rooney's Normal People set to premiere on BBC and Hulu this year.
Zara Devlin, Bachelor in Acting, 2018
Zara was cast in the production On Raftery's Hill at the Abbey Theatre while she was still a Lir student. She then went on to work on The Glass Menagerie at The Gate Theatre and Hecuba, part of the Dublin Theatre Festival. She recently made her off-Broadway debut as Raphina in the stage version of the popular film Sing Street by John Carney and she is preparing for her Broadway debut as the show moves on to Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre.
