Student Accommodation - can you help?

Many of you are probably aware of the current housing crisis facing students in Dublin. With only a few weeks until the start of the new academic year, this is posing a huge problem for our incoming students.

As thousands of students face huge pressure to find housing, we have had a number of requests from students for help sourcing accommodation. The reality of the situation is that many of them may not be able to accept their college places if they cannot find somewhere to live.

We are appealing to our friends and supporters who live in the surrounding areas and may have a spare room in their house to rent, to consider prioritising it for a Lir student. This is your chance to support a student and help them access the educational opportunities open to them as they prepare to embark on their training.

This morning we have posted information across our social media channels, if you have a minute to spare please like and share and help us spread the word. There is also information on our website at https://www.thelir.ie/news/student-accomodation - if you have friends or family who you think may be able to help please consider sharing this with them too.

We have opened an accommodation list for anyone who is able to offer suitable accommodation to our incoming students. If you would like to be added to the list we would love to hear from you.

Please contact Colm at colm.carney@thelir.ie if you can help.

Thank you for your continued support.
