We have a range of short courses taking place over the next few months, from acting, comedy, voice, audition work, screenwriting and more. Finish off the year by developing your creative skills at The Lir Academy.

Art of Screenwriting (Online)

This introductory course is ideal for any student looking to improve their screenwriting skills, focusing on the various forms, ideas and craft of screenwriting. Students are encouraged to think critically about screenplay writing through exercises and discussion in order to get an understanding of creating visual, cinematic pieces of work.

Comedy Improv

Apart from the basic techniques required to create a piece of theatre and/or comedy sketch out of nothing, participants can expect to learn how to develop character and narrative, nurture their inner creative voice, find comfort in uncertainty and spontaneity, listen effectively, communicate through conflict and much more.

Introduction to Voice-Over Acting (Weekend Course)

Facilitated by Al Doyle, one of the UK’s most in demand voice-over performers, this workshop will cover the core skills required to pursue a career in voice-over work in TV, Radio, Documentaries, Cartoons, Gaming and Audiobooks

Audition Prep with The Lir Academy

Audition Workshop Weekend - At this acting audition workshop, one of the core acting teachers at The Lir Academy will guide participants through preparing for auditions, through careful selection of monologues and developing characterisation.

December (7th & 8th)

Audition Masterclass (Two-Weekends) - This is an intensive course for those considering auditioning for drama school, who wish to master audition techniques and fully prepare their monologues.

9th & 10th of November & 16th & 17th of November.

Audition Workshop (Online) - At this acting audition workshop, participants will be guided through the process of preparing for Drama School auditions, through careful selection of monologues and developing characterisation.
