The Ash Fire by Gavin Kostick
A Jewish immigrant cabinet-maker and his wife set up his business in Dublin in the 1930s. When his two brothers come to join him he thinks they will be settled for life, however, it doesn’t take long before the cracks begin to show and the relationships begin to unravel. The Ash Fire is an investigation of the turbulence between the values of tradition and the lure of assimilation in working-class Dublin.
