The programme introduces young performers to the key components of actor training such as: Acting & Improvisation, Voice & Speech and Movement & Physical Theatre in a supportive, fun and educational environment. This course is an excellent first step for young actors who are passionate about being on stage and want to work towards a career in theatre and drama.

The Summer Acting Camp is available for young actors aged 12 - 15.

The Summer Acting Camp is a forerunner to Junior Academy and both the Two Week Young Actors' Programme and the Four Week Young Actors' Programme.

While our intention is that all short courses take place in person at The Lir Academy; the health and safety of our staff and short course students is always our main priority. Due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, delivering short courses in person is not always possible and in these circumstances, all short courses suitable for adaptation will be delivered online via Zoom including our August Summer Camp.

Should a change need to be made to move the course online, we will contact the bookers well in advance to offer them the option to accept a place on the online version or a refund. We will outline a limited time period to accept or decline the offer.

If we do not receive a response, you will automatically be given an online place and our regular cancellation policy will come into effect, please see more on that below. This time frame will allow us to offer the place to another candidate, we appreciate your understanding of this requirement.
